No invite is necessary to play in the test drive, but please remember that [community profile] eyemind is a (semi)private game and you must request an invitation before submitting an application. Request an invitation here!

Please note: Threads from the test drive meme DO NOT count toward AC and ARE NOT considered game canon, but you are welcome to use them for your app samples.

SCENARIO ONE: THE HONK IS COMING FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE

Passengers of all sorts end up hitchin’ a ride on Navi, and the latest arrival happens to be one bad-tempered, chaos-causing goose, and it’s making its displeasure at being deposited here known with some very loud, very insistent honks. The honking is intermittent, but it never truly ends for good. You’ll hear it through the walls, outside your cabin doors, on the next floor - everywhere.

After a few hours of this nonsense, Navi reaches out to the passengers via the mental link and asks them to find the source of this infernal noise and round it up so it can be ejected from the ship. It’s driving Navi nuts, they can’t tell where the honking is coming from, so they can’t take care of it themselves. It won’t be easy, because this goose is wily (and an eldritch being, technically), but it needs to be handled. Pair up with a shipmate and round up this feathered menace to be ejected out of the airlock! Just, um, watch your fingers.

SCENARIO TWO: JUMP ON IN, THE WATER’S FINE FOR SWIMMING

Welcome to the planet Umora and its capital, Kupra City! Fun fact about Umora: its surface is 90% water! Luckily for the more terrestrial types, the planet’s inhabitants built most of their cities in sprawling domed underwater structures connected by motorized pipes and tunnels - oxygenated, of course.

Tourism is a big part of what keeps the Kupra City gears turning, so you’ll find plenty of welcoming activities waiting for you to enjoy. Take in the underwater sights in one of the city’s many observation domes! Rent a frog suit and go for a long, relaxing swim - just watch out for the swarms of electrified jellyfish and fields of lava plants! You can even sign up to go on guided treasure-hunting expeditions, if you’re feeling more adventurous. Let loose in a nightclub, or head to the Market District and pick up some underwater steampunk tchotchkes to liven up your cabin.

Just beware - if any of the locals offer to take you out for some underwater cow-tipping, they’re definitely pranking you.

SCENARIO THREE: WE’RE GOIN’ DOWN TO PILLOWTOWN

Traveling through the multiverse can get tiring - wouldn’t you like a nice, relaxing vacation from your (accidental) vacation? Of course you would! Luckily, the planet where Navi is currently docked features a new establishment called Fort Pillowtown, the ultimate chillaxing experience.

As the name suggests, Fort Pillowtown is a large indoor space filled wall to wall with permanent pillowforts. There are a variety of sizes, shapes, and colors, with each individual fort constructed of gauzy hanging sheets, strings of soft lights, warm blankets, plush toys, a mini television with on-screen menu for choosing movies to watch and video games to play, and yes, lots and lots of pillows. Snacks and drinks of all sorts are available for purchase, as are whimsical onesies and comfy slippers to wear. Board and card game sets are also available to borrow or buy.

Grab some friends or make new friends with strangers in your pillowfort of choice! And remember - sharing is caring, so don’t hog all of the popcorn.

Some days, being socially stunted by anything except what Mello needed or if Near whined loud enough as his priorities above finding things to collect and dabble with on the ship was great. No need to mourn or necessity of things earthbound other than maybe EarthBound that was a great game. Tetris, definitely that. Maybe his car. A good, strong set of computers. Now that was magic he could do at his fingertips.

Sadly for Fabian, this was just a nerd with a lot of issues to work out if he'd look past himself some days. 'Some days' wasn't today and even if this wasn't one of the normal two targets, if they had a new person it was his duty to find out exactly what new person was about. They already had one psycho, even if it was a malleable psycho. The scuff of his boots came to a halt and he assessed at least what was in front of him. "You good or you just can't count how many stars are out there? I got pretty far but we keep moving and somethingsomething 'Endless' somethingsomething."

Truly did go to show how comfortable he'd become in the past few hundred years now didn't it? This feeling of displacement and loss was old, and he surely did not like it. Ah, because you feel powerless here, Fabian? Roots lost. Useless. Fingers worked the knots out of bony hands and brows ebbed inward -- aware of the person, but thinking. Mm, an enlightening discovery. What if Tobias only spit-shined what was already there. It's not an unfamiliar thought. Who becomes a doctor without ego? No one. Holding life in their hands. Requires something of a complex on principle, regardless the good intentions.

A smile rose, though, at the thought of someone trying to count the stars. Eyes find the young man. Fear not, learning to look past oneself can be a lifelong endeavor. Ever easier to tell someone else how to 'get perspective' or what have you. He can't judge you there. But there was nothing too remarkable about what was in front of the windowpane beyond tall, young looking, slightly androgynous. Record-breaking in terms of average upon first look.

"And that's the magic of it, I'd think. The endlessness." It just felt, cold. So different from what he works with. He's never wanted to see a pile of dirt so badly in his life. Goodness. A finger curled under his chin for a brief second, he confessed with a laugh. "But I hate it. Time to adjust, I suppose."

No worries, you're good. Just type what makes your heart happy!

That went without saying in this place. Everyone was out of their league, so to speak, and at least had that in common. Handwringing was a noted attribute of the situation and if Matt cared about social queues he might have left it at that. Possibly sadly for this gentleman, he hadn't.

Focusing more specifically on the scene outside the ship, Matt only watched from peripheral after stepping near the window to this expanse they were looking out at. Normal rarely was normal even where he came from and where androgynous bodies were some of the most deadly minds. Normal was where he was most troubled by people, no one was entirely perfect. Though, guessing ancient Witch certainly wasn't obvious. "Perceived endlessness I'd bet, nothing can just keep going on forever. At least not without being transformative." Even the alpha of Minecraft's world generation wasn't really endless.

They would just get to the Farlands and the situation would implode as far as Matt was concerned. Thankfully they weren't anywhere near that and it'd be the journey they'd have to worry about. "It's not so bad here, it takes a bit to realize where you are when you wake up but there's enough eye candy and shit to do." There wasn't nearly enough things Matt enjoyed personally, but he lucked out with other things to keep him focused. "As the books go, looks like this is the part where we exchange names. I've only got one name, it's Matt, so feel free to limit the amount of names you want t'throw at me if you want to keep it even."

Analyze him as you wish, dear Matt. Were he in better mind he'd be doing the same -- give him a small measure, first. For different reasons, likely. And different methods. But who was counting. Outside of stars, and honks.

"Perhaps," he lets the thought linger a little. Well, and what was normal. Was it having a thousand-year-old cat who's a stronger psychic than you could ever dream of being or was it being temporarily immortal for several more hundreds of years because you're an ex-mass murderer. Don't worry about that one, though. It was for love.

He turned, then. To face the man. Head tilting ever slightly to the side. "Endlessness is troubling, isn't it? By nature impossible to comprehend. The universe is expanding, they say. Into what? Another universe? Where does that one end? Is that one also expanding? If so, into what?" Greens moved from his new company out toward the darkness again for a brief moment. "Finality is comforting and measurable."

He reached out a hand. "Fabian." Although the man seems pleasant, and warming up. If not troubled by the whole experience of here. "I've two more names. When I find them for you, I'll share mine."
