let's go away for a while, you and i, to a strange and distant land ...
Hello, passengers! How are y’all surviving the summer? While you may not be able to vacay IRL, we’ve got a fun virtual vacay lined up, so read on.
First up, a few quick announcements:
1. It’s that time again, time to switch your brainmates! New partner pairings will be posted on Saturday, Aug. 7. You have until midnight on Aug. 6 to request pairings, or request to hold over the previous pairing from the last round. There won’t be a separate mingle log for the pairings, because the next planet visit will also start on the 7th - more on that in a bit.
2. As always, please remember to check in to the AC page no later than midnight on Thursday, Aug. 5.
3. If you have not yet made item claims from the last planet visit, please do the thing before Aug. 7. These are freebies, so don’t pass ‘em up!

Everyone deserves a bit of a break, right? Especially after a weird brain-haunting. On Aug. 7, as an apology for being zoned out while Simon and Jack worked their mental mayhem, Navi will make a detour to Cor Leonis, a beach resort located on the planet Adhara. Cor Leonis is a widely known interdimensional haven, and there is only one hard and fast rule to follow during your stay - no violence of any kind is allowed.
Nada. None. No exceptions.
The Cor Leonis staff are serious about enforcing this rule; anyone caught breaking the rule is immediately ejected from the premises. Signs reminding of this rule are posted all around the resort in a number of languages, and everyone who enters is required to sign a waiver stating that they understand their stay in Cor Leonis is dependent on following this single rule, and they agree to abide by it.
But who needs violence? Cor Leonis has plenty of amusement and relaxation to offer. Resort attractions of interest include:
- Hotel Rhada: The hotel itself is huge and sprawling, and the rooms are spacious, luxurious, and shift to suit their occupants' desires. No need to share! Each passenger can have their own room. Several gourmet restaurants and bars fill the ground floor, and any kind of food or drink guests order will be made to serve. An all-hours casino provides entertainment of the gambling variety, with games gathered from around the universe. Or, if you'd rather treat yourself to something a little less high stakes, visit the full-service luxury spa for a massage, facial wrap, or other soothing treatments.
- The beaches: Pristine, gentle waters hug perfect stretches of sand as far as the eye can see, so you can get your fill of sun and swimming during your stay. Or you can organize a team for friendly sports like sand volleyball or Extreme Frisbee! Portions are designated as nude beaches, and no one under the age of 16 will be admitted. Around sunset, all guests are invited to participate in the daily gender-inclusive swimsuit competition, with fun prizes for the top three winners. The competition is followed at dusk by brilliantly colored fireworks displays, and as soon as the fireworks end, a rave begins that lasts until dawn.
- Boardwalk: If you need a break from the sun, take a wander through the boardwalk for shops, arcades, and food stands. Guests will be able to find just about anything to purchase in one of the many shops along the resort premises - except for weapons, armor, and the like. Basically anything else is fair game to buy.
- Boat tours: A variety of these tours are available, catering to a number of interests. Sit back with a leisurely guided tour of the history and architecture of Cor Leonis, embark on a fishing expedition, do some snorkeling to pet some space dolphins (please don't try to ride them), or set out farther from the coast for breathtaking views of the local sea wildlife.
- Cor Leonis Bay: Visit the resort’s premier water park for all the water slides and rides you can slide and ride - just mind the wet concrete! No one wants a cracked skull on this trip.
- Hot springs: Unwind from the fun and sun in the natural hot springs, tucked away in a little cove a short distance away from the main beaches. Guests can enjoy soaking in the beneficial space minerals to lower blood pressure, boost circulation, and have a relaxing good time.
The best part? Navi is footing the bill for this visit, so there's no need to spend your own credits on lodging, swim gear, space mai tais, or souvenirs. Navi will provide for each passenger to pick up three specialty items during this visit, so stock up while you can!
All vacations must end, of course, but you’ll have until Aug. 28 to get your fill of sun and fun - and possibly some offers of a more nefarious nature, as well. Stay tuned for more on that later in the month!

Trees, plants, rocks, shells, fish, animals...that kind of thing.
Does foraging/hunting/fishing count as violence?
(What do you mean relaxing break, pfft.)

And nope, none of that counts as violence!
Animals are pretty scarce at the resort proper, except there IS a shop along the boardwalk where you can adopt genetically modified mini-dragons! These are about the same size as your average house cat and come in all colors. There are three different breeds, and each one breathes a different type of element - fire, ice, and lightning. Very small amounts, of course - the fire is about on par with the flame from a Bic lighter, for example.
